Muharram al-Haram

The message of his eminence Grand Ayatollah Duzduzani (M.Z) on the occasion of the month of Muharram al-Haram 1432 A.H.

Peace be on you, O Abu Abdullah and on the souls who had gathered in your camp
The following month is the month of Muharram. It's the month to put enjoining the Ma'ruf and forbidding the Munkar in practice and the month to propagate religious teachings. The month of Muharram is the month which his holiness lord of the martyrs (peace be upon him) rose for promotion of the prophet's religion, and he made headway in raising the religion of God so that not only he devoted his blessed life but also his family were taken into captivity.
His holiness himself has said about his own revolt:
"Lo! We are Allah's and lo! Unto Him we are returningand may peace be upon Islam as a nuisance like Yaziid has overcome the people."
In these days Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) teaches the world to brave it out and fight against false cultures.
"I swear that I said the prayer, Ibestowed the Zakat (a kind of religious fund), I enjoined the Ma'ruf, and I forbade the Munkar".
Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) fought against evil deeds such as playing with dogs, playing chess, corruption and prostitution and he sacrificed even his own children in this way. Nowadays, unfortunately, the false western culture is turned upside down into the Islamic societies in such a way that it isn't possible to prevent that easily. The youth of our society suffered from carelessness about saying prayer, paying religious funds, enjoining the Ma'ruf and forbidding the Munkar. We can see that gambling etc is spread through the society.
Do the officialdoms and those who are custodian of the culture of the society think out what they will do about dealing with these issues and about preventing them from epidemic of these issues?
It seems that if something has been done in this case, it is less than what is needed.
I suggest to preachers and missionaries make the purpose of his holiness the lord of the martyrs (peace be upon him) clear, serve the same purpose more than anything else, and recommend saying prayer to people especially the young in the first place, and then propagate other goals of his holiness among which paying religious funds, enjoining the Ma'ruf, forbidding the Munkar, stopping gambling and etc are more important.
It is suggested to mourners that attend the gatherings which serve the purpose of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), and which are instructive for them, and abstain from going to gatherings which there is nothing about the lord of the martyrs (May our souls be sacrificed for him) in them or it is faint. How often! Superstitions spread throughout these kinds of gatherings.
May almighty God grant us success to profit by these days, and reverse the mischief of the foreigners into themselves, and hasten the coming of Imam Zaman (a.t.f.g)
