Commencement of new academic year

The statements of Grand Ayatollah Haaj Sheikh Yadollah Duzduzani at the commencement of 85-86thacademic year
In His Name

"All of you shall be guardians and protectors (of society), and all of you shall be responsible for your inferiors. You shall be questioned about your behavior towards them."
I congratulate all of you dears on the commencement of 85-86th academic year. I wish you and all of those who work in education success to carry out the duty. As academic institutions reopen, at this point, I remind students, teachers and all of those who are involved in these academic centers to not confine their activities to education and teaching. Teaching and educating are their official duties, but even so, trying to spiritually nourish and purify those who are in your hands for a while is more important.
Almighty God puts purification and nourishing of the human spirit before education and teaching and says in the holy Quran about the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his progeny) "First he spiritually nourishes them (believers), and then he teaches them."
The educational system, in this regard, should take note of this matter and it should impose this important duty on teachers. Any kind of negligence in this situation could increase the risk that is threatening our younger generation and it could increase the influence of western culture on misdirecting boys and girls of our society. It's late in the day to prevent from dominating of western culture in our society, yet it's never too late to mend and it could still be possible to build a defensive wall for guarding our young people's souls and thoughts against this decadent and immoral culture. I offer those who can take an action a helping hand and I'm ready to provide financial and practical help, moral support and guidance along the way.
